Co-authors Elinor Martin and Betty Bouris assembled these early photographs for the Menifee Valley Historical Association. Several photographs were provided by descendents of pioneer residents who still call the Menifee Valley their home.

Elinor Martin is a third generation Menifee Valley resident.
Originally from Iowa, Elinor's great-great grandfather James B. Ferrell came to Menifee in 1887 and homesteaded land known today as Audie Murphy Ranch. Elinor attended the Antelope School and Perris High School.
Her interests are family and local history.
Betty Bouris came to Menifee as a bride in 1950. She with husband Herk, and son Mike farmed extensively in the area growing wheat and sugar beets.
Betty has grandchildren and great grands living in Menifee. She was a community activist, serving on many local boards and commissions and has lived for 67 years in her house that was built in
